RM Sotheby´s Auction Villa Erba 2015
RM Sotheby's leaders knew very well what to offer to rich clients on the shores of Lake Como. Compiled a list of 40 very popular items, in addition to vehicles alone appeared there, for example, a luxury boat 1959 Riva Florida after actress Brigitte Bardot, sculpture of Bugatti 35 or motorcycle 1992 BMW K1, which was auctioned off for 10,530 euros to help the victims of earthquake in Nepal.
Catalogue offered quite considerably large amount of models from Ferrari, appeared in a total of 16 vehicles, from classic rarities to models from the end of the first decade of the 21st century. It is seen, that Ferrari generally extends and auctioneers therefore tested clients is a relatively "normal" newer models. Out of 37 cars were sold 90% of them in total price of 26.7 million euros. Certainly, the biggest surprise was the fact, that two favourite cars stayed unsold: 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione and the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider. Interesting, that the second one fell of the auction less than a million under the estimated price of € 11 million (low estimate). It is increasingly clear that the same type of Ferrari sold Baillon collection in February in Paris (16.3 million euros) was overpriced.
But rare 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta Export reached a new auction record when it was sold for 6.7 million euros. A total of 10 cars found new owners at the cost of over a million euros, of which seven cars had the prancing horse emblem.
It is worth mentioning even the results of several popular cars, this time without the Ferrari emblem on the hood. 1953 Fiat 8V Vignale Cabriolet achieved a sales price of 1.12 million euros, which is a very good result. At the last auctions, Fiats were in the shadow of Ferrari models. Sold piece was also the only 8V chassis with convertible bodywork made by Vignale. Another interesting car: 1971 Lamborghini Miura P400S from Bertone, last piece from P400 series, which had since auction traveled only 30,000 km. Sold for 1.01 million euros. 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight Sport has achieved 1.008 million euros. It is only the second of the Porsche 911, which was sold this year at a cost of over one million euros. 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster was sold for 952,000 euros, suggesting where is its current position.
